SMS organised a Demonstration Workshop for end-users

Le 15 09 2017

On the 6th July 2017, the SMS project invited interested stakeholders to a demonstration workshop at the Marine Biology station in Piran, Slovenia.

During the workshop, several experts involved in the SMS project presented the methods for analysing and measuring pollutants in coastal water, as well as the automated methods used to detect them.
The workshop consisted of a plenary session, lab demonstrations and a visit to the coastal buoy in Piran. With the concluding visit to the costal buoy, participants were able to see the SMS monitoring system in action.

Our Final Project Conference took place in the European Parliament!

Le 27 06 2017

The SMS project presented its research’s results in terms of monitoring seawater chemical and ecological status in real time and in situ  in the European Parliament on the 10th of July 2017, from 16:30 to 18:30, in room A3H-1.

This event, chaired by MEP Ricardo Serrao Santos and was entitled "Ensuring Good Environmental Status of EU marine waters through efficient monitoring programmes". It demosntrated why the SMS project, aiming at promoting innovative methodologies to detect/identify and measure emerging pollutants, is supported and funded by EU policies and presented how the innovations achieved could be useful for the end-users.

SMS at the Oceans conference and exhibition in Aberdeen (UK)

Le 20 06 2017

On 20-22 June 2017, our partner Systea is showing at the Oceans conference and exhibition in Aberdeen (UK), in our booth n.32, the WIZ in-situ multiparametric probe and μMac-Smart portable analyzer for coastal water monitoring.

On 22 June Systea participates to the Oceans of Tomorrow workshop, to describe the activities and results achieved by the SMS research project, including the new automated measurement applications to measure algal toxins (saxitoxin, domoic acid, okadaic acid) and specific algal species in coastal water, by the Enzyme Linked Immuno-Magnetic Optical (ELIMO) technology applied in the μMac-Smart.

Our team is getting ready for the Oceans'17 Conference

Le 12 06 2017

SMS will participate to the Oceans Conference in Aberdeen, Scotland from 19 –22 June 2017.
The prestigious OCEANS series of conferences is recognised as the premier forum for the international marine community to meet and discuss topical issues in a format of easy information exchange. OCEANS brings together engineers, scientists, managers and policy makers from all aspects of the oceanic spectrum.

Together with other 'Ocean of Tomorrow' FP7 projects, SMS willl take part to the "SENSOR and SYSTEM Innovations for the Oceans of Tomorrow" workshop organised on the Thursday 22nd June 2017. You can find more information here.

OCEANS also features an associated trade exhibition with companies and institutions representing the wide range of activities found in the marine community. SMS will have a booth during the exhibition : don't hesitate to come to our booth and exchange with us!
